Line Afterbang skis are built like a skateboard deck. The skis include the new Butter Zones, which move the zones in toward the boot for more leverage and control as well as the new Carbon Ollieband, 10 carbon stringers for even more energy and pop. Other technology includes Symmetric Flex, symmetric geometry, and center mount. Environmentally speaking, it has 40% less plastic than a cap ski, 50% less plastic than a sidewall ski, and 60% less wood waste.
The most respected construction in action sports now applies to skiing. It's been four long years of research and development and a level of secrecy that even the government could be proud of. Line threw away the core, the topsheet, and the sidewalls, and replaced it all with a 7 ply Hard Rock Maple veneer Deck Construction that runs edge to edge, tip to tail. Just like a skateboard deck, the Hard Rock Maple provides uncompromised strength and resistance to shock throughout the entire ski. The plys are stacked from bottom to top, each layer progressively shorter in length to create an engineered flex pattern, similar to the way leaf spring supspension works in your car. Just like Line's other skis, they use their Fatty base and edge, and a fiberglass laminate configuration on the top and bottom to control torsional responsiveness, camber, and flex.
